Protection

It is always important to protect your hearing. Sound Advice offers affordable generic and customized hearing protection for all needs and situations. For maximum hearing protection, custom-made earplugs are molded on site to each individual ear and for each situation. If there is a need for ear protection for work, recreation, listening to live music, surfing or swimming, Sound Advice can help. Hearing tests are free with purchase of hearing protection.

Diagnostics and Evaluations

The first step to determine any hearing related issue is a comprehensive assessment and thorough testing. Sound Advice will examine the ears, evaluate the middle ear system (eardrum, bones and muscles) and perform a hearing test. A detailed description of the testing results will be provided. Testing questionnaires are used to allow the experts at Sound Advice to get a better understanding of the individual needs of the patient. Once testing is complete, the Audiologist will sit down and make any necessary rehabilitative or medical recommendations.

Rehabilitative

Sound Advice helps patients with rehabilitation along with instructing them on how to best optimize their hearing. There are many options available that help a person protect, maintain and enhance their current level of hearing. Some patients have difficulty hearing the television set or in areas with background noise. Some have a hard time understanding quiet conversations. An audiologist can teach a patient listening, lip reading and communication strategies. If the audiologist determines that the patient needs an assistive hearing device, a state-of-the-art solution will be suggested that addresses the needs of the patient. Specialized television and theater amplifiers, cordless phones, alarm clocks and other helpful listening devices are also available from Sound Advice.

Hearing Aids

Hearing impairment is a stressful and difficult condition. The audiologist is the expert that can recommend the right hearing aid for each individual patient. Digital technology has greatly improved hearing aids and instruments and allows many choices. They have become a very sophisticated tool for those needing hearing assistance. Besides delivering crystal clear sound and decreasing the size of the hearing aid, the hearing aid is easy to use and almost undetectable by others.

If the audiologist determines that the patient needs an assistive hearing device, a cost-effective, state-of-the-art solution will be suggested that addresses the needs of the patient and matches the device with the patient. Sound Advice also offers warranty and out-of-warranty repairs on all hearing aid makes and models with loaner hearing aids available when necessary. A 30-day trial period is one of the guarantees that you will be satisfied at Sound Advice!

Adult Hearing Services

Hearing impairment affects all age groups, but almost 33% of people over the age of 70 in the United States have some hearing related issues. All parts of the hearing system wear out from years of use such as the eardrum, hearing bones and hearing nerves. All together that adds up to hearing loss due to aging. Sound Advice wants to help seniors and their hearing. Hearing loss can cause clinical depression too, which is in the top 5 chronic medical problems for the elderly. The office is wheelchair accessible and home appointments are available. Medicare is accepted.

Professional

Prolonged exposure to loud noise is a leading cause of sensory hearing loss. Sound Advice can help musicians and others such as fire fighters, heavy equipment operators and those that work near high volume sound preserve their hearing. With custom-made earplugs and stage or ear monitors, clients can know that they have the best protection for their particular job. An audiologist can visit the work site at a sound studio or job site and evaluate the needs of the client. Molds are made of both ears, which the audiologist will use to create custom ear plugs that address each individual’s unique situation.
